RESONANT BONDS
In an age of endless connectivity, we explore the profound intimacy of personal bonds. This exhibition, Resonant Bonds, is a tapestry woven from the physical and the digital, featuring new work by Ana Luz Valenzuela and I, Shamant Bagrecha. Our collaboration brings together Luz's fibers and my interactive projections to explore how every person and experience leaves an indelible thread in the fabric of our lives.
Luz's work harnesses the tangible qualities of fibers to materialize the symbolic weight of these relationships. Through various knitting techniques, she visualizes the unique textures of our shared experiences, while patterns and designs serve as portraits of the people who have shaped her. Her textiles are a physical record of the connections that hold us together.
My digital projections expand on this idea, creating an immersive, multi-sensory environment. Music, visuals, and interactive elements converge to represent the flow of inspiration and memory. Visitors are invited to actively shape the soundscape, a process that mirrors how we influence and are influenced by the people in our lives.
Together, our work creates a space where physical texture meets luminous light, and static material is animated by interactive sound. The audience moves through this gallery not as passive observers, but as participants, exploring the interwoven nature of their own history and the universal story of human connection. The result is a blended space that celebrates everyone and everything that shapes us, reminding us that we are all, in essence, connected.
We ended up having a lovely experience and meeting so many people who came to watch, experience and support us! It was very moving for the both of to have heard multiple people say they left with a new experience and they took back something with them from the show.
We hope to keep creating and sharing our art and love for it with the World!

A little Insight on my work
Here's a quick look into my project, where you can see the overview of the interaction between the audio software, Ableton, and the visuals on Touchdesigner.
And also a quick demo of the audio integration and reaction to hand movements!
(I sure was locked in on that one)

This goes in with our theme of interconnectional bonds, as in how one can influence another and then another, in a way that the gestures influence the audio and the audio then influences the visuals, the same way, you could be influenced by someone and their characteristics and behaviours or personality, and how that could have been influenced by someone entirely different. It may be anything from the way you talk, to the interests and hobbies you have, or the mannerisms you inherit to see and feel things differently.
I also created another piece, using blob tracking in Touchdesigner and connecting two screens, and two cameras, where footage was sent back and forth between two laptops with an instance of TouchDesigner working in them separately.
Unfortunately, at the moment of updating this, I have no access to the file, but I have an example of the effect where the footage is exchanged between two videos in small fragments from a different video source.

This was created to symbolise that there are always parts of others within ourselves.
